“Kiss cut” does not refer in any way to the material of the sticker, just how they’re printed and cut.

Kiss cut stickers are almost always made of vinyl which makes them very durable, waterproof and relatively cheap.

HOW ARE KISS CUT STICKERS DIFFERENT THAN DIE CUT STICKERS?

Both die cut stickers and kiss cut stickers are printed using a machine that can contour around your design.

In fact, once they’re peeled off their backing they look exactly the same.

The only real difference is that kiss cut stickers, unlike die cut stickers, are manufactured to only cut through the vinyl, leaving the extra paper backing intact.

WHAT ARE KISS CUT STICKERS USED FOR?

The extra paper backing that comes with kiss cut stickers is great for those who are using them as promotional handouts.

They offer the ability to use the extra paper backing for an added message that you may want to deliver but not want to include on the actual sticker.

Another reason people may choose kiss cut stickers over die cut stickers for the extra paper backing is that the detailed edges of the contour cut are better protected this way.

As the stickers are handled, the outline of the sticker design is not impacted until it’s peeled, which reduces the risk of the sticker becoming damaged before it’s applied.
